The Gettysburg College wrestling team scored pins in three of its first
four matches en route to a 24-12 Centennial Conference dual-meet
victory over visiting McDaniel College at Bream Gymnasium. Freshman
Jack Bostrom (DHS ’07) set the tone early by scoring two near falls in
the first round of his 133-pound match with Tim Hall before earning his
first collegiate pin with just under a minute remaining in the second
round…

Shine posted a .940 save percentage during a 1-0-1 road weekend for the Continentals (4-10-3 overall). She made 46 saves to preserve a 2-2 tie against nationally- ranked Amherst College (#6) on Friday, and followed that performance with 33 stops in a 4-3 overtime win at Connecticut College on Saturday. She ranks 10th in the NESCAC with a save percentage of .899… John Hopkins junior David Hill (DHS ’05) won his match 3-0 against St. John’s in men’s fencing... {sidebar id=4}B.C. sophomore Kristyn Roth (DHS ’06) finished 5th in the 200-yard medley relay and 5th in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a 157-143 win over URI… Sophomore Mike Kelly (DHS ’05) and his Connecticut College men’s hockey team knocked off Trinity, 4-1, on Saturday… Sophomore Andrew Knapp (DHS ’06) defeated Bill Beireister of Sacred Heart with two seconds left in riding time in Harvard’s 40-9 wrestling win on Saturday… Senior Parny Ormiston (DHS ’04) and her Holy Cross women’s hockey team shutout MIT, 7-0, on Saturday…Holy Cross freshman Ashley Buckley (DHS ’07) finished 8th in the 200-meter dash in the Crusader’s 97-81 win over UMaine last week… Indiana U. sophomore Peter Antons (DHS ’05) and his doubles partner, Santiago Gruter, won their #3 doubles match in a tie-breaker 9-8 (7-1) in a thrilling 4-3 win over #47-ranked Kentucky… Senior Matt Harhen (DHS ’04) finished 6th in the 200-yard medley relay, 7th in the 400-yard freestyle relay, 11th in the 50-yard freestyle and 12th in the 100-yard freestyle in Lafayette’s tri-meet with Colgate and West Point… Senior diver Brooks Wallace (DHS ’04) was honored on Senior Day prior to Northeastern’s 165.5-134.5 win over Dartmouth at Barletta Natatorium on Saturday. Wallace won both diving events, scoring 272.48 in the 1-meter and 289.43 in the 3-meter. Her score in the 3-meter is a new personal record, surpassing the score of 275.60 she earned in the team’s last meet against Boston University and New Hampshire on Jan. 19… Roger Williams senior Ben Camobreco (DHS ’04) was on fire Saturday in his team’s 84-82 last-second win over the University of New England. Camobreco was 7 for 8 from the field, including 5 of 6 from three-point land and finished with 21 points… Sophomore Billy Carroll (DHS ’05) had a goal and 4 assists in 16 games for the UMass-Dartmouth hockey team, including an assist in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Franklin Pierce… Roanoke junior Wava Doyle (DHS ’05) finished 4th in the 4x400 relay at the Christopher Newport Invitational in Newport News, VA over the weekend…Mike Baran (Thayer ’07) is playing in the EJHL (junior hockey) for the first-place Syracuse Stars.
