Senior Mark Murphy (DHS ’08) was credited with a ground ball in Bates’ 12-8 loss to Hamilton on Saturday in NY. Earlier in the week he had 2 ground balls in an 11-5 win over No. 11-ranked Bowdoin, 11-5… Colby freshman Brett Sahlberg (DHS ’11) finished 7th in the long jump at Saturday’s Jim Sheehan Memorial Track & Field Invitational at Fitchburg State College to help Colby finish 3rd in the 11-team field …
Freshman Clark Demos (DHS ’11) caused a turnover in Skidmore’s 11-8 loss to RPI on Wednesday… Freshman Stephanie Lenhardt (DHS ’11) had an assist in Westfield State’s 17-0 trouncing of Elms College on Thursday. E. College over the weekend… Senior Gus Quinzani (DHS ’08) had 2 goals for St. Josephs in their 13-9 loss to Hofstra on Saturday on Long Island… Senior Scott Austin (DHS ’08) had a goal in Cornell’s 14-10 win over Harvard on Saturday in Ithaca, NY… Babson senior Trish Babson (DHS ’08) had 2 goals and an assist in the Beavers’ 19-7 win over Smith on Saturday in Northhampton… One hundred Amherst College student-athletes have been named to the NESCAC’s 2012 Winter All-Academic Team. One of those students was Mike Baran (Thayer ’08). To be honored, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.35 and have reached at least sophomore academic standing. Of Amherst’s 100 honorees, 15 were also named to an All-Conference team in their respective sport-including Baran |
