Senior forward Kelsey Powers has been named a Boston Bruins-MIAA Hockey Sportsmanship Award winner and was honored between periods at last week’s Bruins-Lightning game at the TD Garden. This is the 10th straight year the Bruins have partnered with the MIAA to honor a student-athlete from every boys and girls high school hockey league in the state who best exemplifies a commitment to the ideas of sportsmanship throughout the season.

“Kelsey is a true team player and always puts the needs of her team before her own,” said Duxbury Coach Friend Weiler. “I am proud to have Kelsey Powers as a member of my team and I feel she exemplifies the high standards the MIAA promotes. I believe that character and sportsmanship go hand in hand, and Kelsey has been an example of that throughout her high school career.”
