The Duxbury girls’ indoor track opened its season against Quincy last Thursday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, beating the Presidents, 76 -19.

Junior Laura Nee and senior Emily Doyle qualified for the Division III State meet in February, with Nee placing first in the 600M with a time of 1:46.6 and Doyle taking first in her event. Duxbury swept the one-mile race with Lauren Bittrich placing first (5:53), Julie Weiss taking second with a personal best of 6:25, and Caroline Bittrich finishing third in 6:40. Duxbury came in first (Taylor Lovett) and third (Sydney King) in both the 55M and 55M hurdles (Meghan MacKinnon-first and Sydney King-third).

The Lady Dragons also swept the 1000M with Michaela Lannon winning in 4:12, Linnea Sahlberg taking second in 4:14, Sam Spellman finishing third and Lindsay Feeney placing fourth in 4:14. Both Lauren (1st) and Caroline Bittrich (2nd) finished the two-mile in 13:05 and 15:08, respectively.

Duxbury also won the 4X200m (Nee, MacKinnon, Lovett and Doyle) with a time of 2:02 and the 4X400m (Micaela Lannon, Lindsay Feeney, Michelle Meier, and Salhberg) with a time of 5:23.

In the field events, Doyle (14’ 4.75”) and Lovett (12’ 4”) placed first and second in the long jump, while Doyle also placed first (4’ 9”) in the high jump and was the only one who cleared the starting height.

In the shot put, Weiss finished second and Spellman finished third.
