The Board of Directors of Duxbury Youth Baseball is pleased to announce open registration for the 2008 spring baseball season.  Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 16th and continuing through Friday, Feb. 29th, anyone wishing to play spring baseball must register online at www.duxburyyouthbaseball.com.  Spring leagues are as follows:table.jpg

Note that the Senior Babe Ruth (ages 16-19) league does not begin until the summer.  Registrations for that league and all the summer leagues will take place at a later date.  Also note that there will be no walk-in registration this year. Applications received after Feb. 29th are subject to availability and a $25 late fee.

Duxbury Youth Baseball’s mission is to provide a safe environment for the boys and girls of Duxbury to enjoy and learn the game of baseball. Our goal as an organization is to enhance every child’s enjoyment of the game through personal instruction, group clinics and organized games, so that baseball becomes a source of lifetime enjoyment.  DYB especially tries to promote baseball’s fundamental principles of sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork that can be used throughout life to become better citizens.

 In 2007, nearly 1,000 kids participated in one of our many programs between April and October.  In the spring, we offer an in-town league open to all kids aged 5-15 that runs from April through mid-June.  In the summer, we offer both an in-town league as well as several travel teams that represent Duxbury against other towns in the surrounding communities.  These travel teams play in one of two south shore leagues - the Suburban League or the South River League.  One team, per league, at each grade level (Grades 3-9) will represent Duxbury in this summer league which runs from late June to early August.  Our fall league consists of instruction and “pick-up” games each Saturday morning from mid September through the end of October.  In addition to these leagues, we will continue our series of free clinics throughout the spring and summer seasons as well.   In keeping with our mission, all of these programs emphasize instruction and skill-building in a safe, fun environment so as to create great experiences for your child and a life-time love of the game.{sidebar id=1}

Thank you for your continued support of that mission.  We look forward to helping create a lifetime of memories for your children in 2008.
