Long hours, early mornings and lots of hard work has paid off for three Kingfish swim team athletes, who train at the Kingsbury Club in Kingston. Elise Campbell, Brian Keane and Hunter Chiasson will represent the Kingfish in Orlando, Florida on March 16-22 at the Junior National Championship meet During the March 5 weekend, Kingfish swimmers competed in the 13 and over New England Championships held at MIT. Overall the team placed among the top teams in New England. The Kingfish had great success individually with team members qualifying for the Speedo Sectionals held at Harvard University this past weekend. Among this group are Duxbury swimmers: seniors Bernardo Neves and Chiasson, juniors Kaitlin Buckley, Patrick O’Neal, and sophomore Emily Hutchinson. Marshfield swimmers include junior Erin Campbell, eighth-grader Elise Campbell and Hanson swimmer Brian Keane: a standout swimmer for BC High. The group is lead by Coach Jay Craft, an Olympic trial swimmer, who was named this year’s Boston Globe Coach of the Year after his Duxbury High School swim teams finished sixth (girls) and eighth (boys) at the State Championship meet last month. Craft’s outstanding coaching abilities, motivational techniques and dedication to his team and the sport of swimming has helped these athletes reach their goals and beyond. The Kingfish swim team swims at the Kingsbury Club in Kingston and is currently accepting swimmers of all ages and abilities. Tryouts are every Tuesday at 4 p.m. If interested in scheduling a tryout or finding out more information about the team please visit our web site at www.kingfishswimming.com or contact Coach Jay Craft at 617-797- 8653, email jcraft@kingfishswimming.com. |
