Freshman Mike Baran (Thayer ’07) scored his first goal of the season for Amherst in its 6-3 hockey win over Babson and Terry Woods (DHS ’06) on Saturday in Wellesley…  Sophomore Evan Novakowski (DHS ’07) finished 4th in the 4 x 400 relay for his Bucknell “B†team in Saturday’s Gulden Relays held at Bucknell… Curry College senior Kim Reske (Sacred Heart ’05) scored 3 pts. and dished out 4 assists in Curry’s 86-49 trouncing of Fisher College last Wednesday. She followed that with a 5-point/3-assist effort in a 63-54 loss to Western New England on Saturday… Duke junior Max Quinzani (DHS’06) has been selected as a pre-season 2nd team All-American by Inside Lacrosse Magazine… Gordon College sophomore guard Sara Schwanke (DHS ’07) had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists, and 2 steals, and was named to the All-Tournament team as the Fighting Scots fell to UMass-Boston, 47-44, in the Goombay Tournament in Nassau, Bahamas. When Gordon returned home, Schwanke had 9 points to lead the Fighting Scots in a 57-38 loss to Wentworth… Junior goaltender Meg Shine (Tabor ’06) faced 43 shots in Hamilton’s 6-2 loss to Amherst on Friday night. It didn’t get any easier on Saturday night when Shine looked at 31 shots in a 3-2 loss to Connecticut College in New London… Rumor has it that Pat Magnarelli (DHS ’06) could be recovered enough to be back in action by the end of January for his Harvard basketball team… Indiana University senior Peter Antons (DHS ’05) won his singles match 6-0/6-1, then dropped his doubles match, 8-5, at the Florida Gulf Coast Shootout in Ft. Meyers last week… Sophomore Jack Bostrom (DHS ’07) continues to start at 133 lbs. for the Gettysburg College wrestling team. |
