In order to tryout or practice for a fall team, the following must be turned in before opening day, tryouts or practices: A signed permission slip/consent form, available in the DHS front office, athletic director’s office or can be downloaded from the school Web site. An updated physical. All fall student-athletes must pass in a physical within 13 months of the first day of practices and/or tryouts.{sidebar id=4} A user fee. The fee to play sports at Duxbury High School for the 2008-09 school year will be $210 per sport. The athletic department will not cash any checks until after teams have been selected. All paperwork must be turned into the high school front office or the Athletic Director’s office. Fall Cheerleading: Thursday, Aug. 21. Girls’ Soccer: Monday, Aug. 25, all levels, Train Field (in front of Alden School) 8:30-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m., double sessions both Monday and Tuesday. Field Hockey: Thursday, Aug. 21, all levels, fields behind town library 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Boys’ Soccer: Thursday, Aug. 21 – Varsity/JV, meet at pool fields. 9-11 a.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Freshman Boys’ Soccer: Monday, Aug. 25 – pool field at 9 a.m. Boys’ Cross Country: Thursday, Aug. 21 at the DHS Track from 9-10:30 a.m. and 5-6:30 p.m. Girls’ Cross Country: Thursday, Aug. 21 – DHS track from 9 a.m-11 a.m. V/JV Football: Monday, Aug. 18 – Non-contact practice at 1 p.m. Freshman Football: Wednesday, Aug. 20 – TBA Football equipment was Issued on Aug. 5. Boys’ Golf: Wednesday, Aug. 20 – Mandatory meeting in the DHS cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. First tryout is at the Atlantic Country Club in Plymouth on Aug. 21. The rain date is Aug. 22. The second tryout is at the Duxbury Yacht Club, on Aug. 25, with a rain date of Aug. 26. |
