Daniel Sangster, a rising junior at Duxbury High, was selected to be part of the Revolution’s Under-16 soccer team.

Sangster was chosen from 365 players who tried out for the Revs team.{sidebar id=4}

Sangster said practices started two weeks ago. “We practice three nights a week at Gillette stadium both in the field house and in the stadium,” he said. “Games are on the weekends.  We will also attend tournaments throughout the country.”

He said the team traveled to Colorado to participate in the MLS- U17 Cup last Thursday.

Sangster said he is a Revs fan and has meet many of the professional players, but hopes to meet even more.

Sangster has been playing soccer for 12 years. “I started playing soccer when I was 4.  My father put me on my brother’s indoor team.  I got to play the last 3 minutes of each half.”

Since then, he has played on the high school team, Crusaders United and Mass ODP.

“I was part of the ODP national team that went to Germany last summer,” he said.

He hopes to play soccer of a Division 1 college after graduation.

“It is great to play and be coached at this level,” Sangster said about his experience with the Revs.

“My parents and brother are real happy for me,” he said.
