Duxbury won its fourth straight game last week when it walloped Randolph, 10-1.{sidebar id=4}

The Dragons have now scored in double figures in three of the last four games while boosting their record to 8-6 with six games remaining in the regular season.

While hitting gets the fans excited, it was the pitching of junior Tyler Genereux that stole the show in the win over the Blue Devils, as the right-hander fanned six batters and yielded just two hits in seven innings for his first varsity victory.

Junior outfielder Jack Garrity led the way for Duxbury with three hits and three RBI, while freshman Phil Sciretta continued with his hot bat by going 2 for 3.{sidebar id=1}

Earlier in the week, Sciretta singled, doubled, and tripled, and junior Shane Dibona drove in two runs, as Duxbury evened its record at .500 (6-6) with a 4-2 win over Rockland.

Senior pitcher Brett Bartlett out-dueled Rockland’s Mike Mahoney by scattering four hits and contributing to his own cause by knocking in a pair of runs.

Two days later the Dragons traveled to Hingham and destroyed the Harbormen, 14-3.

Junior Colin Woods hit his first career grand slam, and Dibona (3 for 5) crushed a first-inning home run to lead the Duxbury attack. Sciretta also continued his torrid stretch by going 3 for 5.

Sophomore pitcher Jeff Blout held Hingham in check by scattering five hits over seven innings, striking out five, and allowing no walks for the complete game victory.
