Sophomore Max Quinzani (DHS ’06) scored 3 goals and earned an assist in
Duke’s 17-6 win over North Carolina in the semi-final round of the ACC
Tournament in Charlottesville, VA on Friday. In Sunday’s final,
Quinzani scored a goal and assisted on another as Duke won the ACC
Championship with an 11-9 win over Virginia. The former DHS star was
named to the ACC All-Tournament team for his efforts… Senior Jenna
Goldstein (DHS ’04) ended her Assumption lacrosse career in spectacular
fashion by scoring 16 goals and adding 3 assists in the final three
games of the Greyhounds’ season…

Bates’ rower Caitlin Murphy (DHS ’05) and Alison Frye (DHS ’06) were winners in the Bates women’s first Varsity-8 boat that is ranked No. 3 in Division III and dominated its race with a time of 6:50.98, while Bowdoin took second in 7:16.11 and Colby followed in 7:21.94. Murphy also competed in the women’s varsity fours… Sophomore Kevin Gould (DHS ’05) scored the winning goal for Bentley in its 9-7 lacrosse win over Southern NH University. Gould had 2 goals and an assist in the win. On Saturday Gould assisted on the only Bentley goal in the Falcons’ 10-1 loss to undefeated LeMoyne. Bentley took on Merrimack yesterday in the NE-10 Tournament… Wellesley College freshman Holly Jones (DHS ’07) and her novice crew team took first place in the Novice race at the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Rowing Championship to help Wellesley win its first-ever Florence Jope Smith Cup. Wellesley College also received the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award, voted on by the NEWMAC teams… {sidebar id=1}Bentley College freshman Leigh Tedeschi (DHS ’07) scored an historic goal in the Falcon’s 24-9 win over Franklin Pierce. Tedeschi’s goal allowed teammate Alyssa Ritchie to break the all-time Bentley women’s scoring record of 217 points when she got the assist. In that game Tedeschi also scored 3 goals, while freshman Becca Woods (DHS ’07) scored her first collegiate goal. The Duxbury duo did it again in Bentley’s 16-15 loss on Thursday to New Haven, as Tedeschi had the hat-trick and Woods scored her second of the season. In a 17-1 rout of AIC on Saturday Woods scored for the third game in a row… Freshman attack Nick Violandi (DHS ’07) scored a goal in Assumption’s 20-8 win over AIC on Thursday. He followed that up on Saturday with a 2-goal performance in the Greyhounds’ 15-7 win over Franklin Pierce… Babson College senior captain Bethany Nardone (DHS ’04) and her Beaver lacrosse team captured their second consecutive NEWMAC lacrosse title with a 10-9 win over Springfield in a battle of unbeatens. The win gives Babson the #1 seed in the NEWMAC Tournament that plays this weekend… Freshman Ben Bray (DHS ’07) finished 11th out of 15 runners in the preliminary round of the 800-meter run at the UAA Track Championships at the University of Chicago…
Sam McMahon (Harvard) and Broghan Cully (Dartmouth)
Dartmouth senior Kristen Barry (Thayer ’04) had a goal and an assist in the Green’s 15-10 lacrosse loss to BU. Freshman Broghan Cully (Nobles ’07) also saw action for Dartmouth and was credited with a groundball… Senior Tim Daniels (Milton Academy ’04) scored one goal and assisted on another in Dartmouth’s 11-9 upset win over Princeton in Ivy League action… Sophomore Betsey Sauer (DHS ’06) and her Duke women’s lacrosse team crushed VA Tech, 19-6, in the opening round of the ACC Tournament. In the semi-final round Duke lost to Virginia, 10-9… Junior Chris Ajemian (DHS ’05) scored a goal and added an assist in Fairfield’s 10-9 win over UMass. He followed that with a pair of goals and an assist in a 10-7 loss to St. John’s on Saturday in Queens, NY… Sophomore Chris Nixon (DHS ’06) was credited with two groundballs in Georgetown’s 13-7 win over Rutgers in NJ on Saturday… Freshman Sam Lenhardt (DHS ’07) went 1 for 3 in Holy Cross’ 6-2 win over Central CT… The college lacrosse career of Cara O’Sullivan (DHS ’04) came to an end last week in Holy Cross’ 18-6 loss to Boston College… Junior Peter Antons (DHS ’05) and his Indiana U. tennis team were eliminated from the Big 10 Tournament. Antons lost his match, 8-5, at #3 doubles… Ithaca College junior Alec Siefert (DHS ’05) scored a goal in a 17-9 win over St. John Fisher in the Empire 8 Conference semi-final on Saturday… U. of Maryland freshman Kerri Connolly (DHS ’07) finished 36th with a three-round total of 235, as her Terrapin golf team finished 7th in the ACC Women’s Golf Championships at the Legend’s Course at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL… MA Maritime freshman Brian Reske (Sacred Heart ’07) finished 23rd in the 800-meter run at the Silfrin Track & Field Invitational at Connecticut College… Roanoke junior Wava Doyle (DHS ’05) ran a personal best (2.22:72) in the 800-meters, as her team won the ODAC Track Championship. The Maroons will now advance to the NCAA Track Championships on May 22-24… Senior Dan Endrusick (DHS ’04) won 8 of 16 face-offs, and sophomore Rian Kearney (DHS ’06) recorded a groundball in Roger Williams’ 15-11 lacrosse win over Nichols… Wesleyan sophomore Jeff Bizinkauskas (DHS ’06) was one of the lone bright spots in a 9-1 loss to Williams, as the catcher doubled for one of Wesleyan’s two hits against the Ephs… Freshmen Bobby Barry (DHS ’07) and Ben Cederberg (DHS ’07) scored 2 goals each for Wheaton, as the Lyons secured one of four play-off spots for the Pilgrim League Championships with a 14-6 win over MIT. Cederberg was at it again on Saturday when he scored 2 goals in an 11-7 win over Babson, clinching the #2 seed for the tournament that gets underway on Wednesday afternoon at Wheaton. Junior defender F.J. Buckley (DHS ’05) was credited with 4 groundballs for the Lyons in the Babson win.…. Yale sophomore Matt Fuchs (DHS ’06) was credited with a groundball in the Eli’s 9-5 loss to Harvard… Freshman defender Kate Cipolletti (DHS ’07) was credited with a groundball for BU in its 17-6 rout of SUNY –Albany in the semi-final round of the America East lacrosse championships being held at BU… Merrimack sophomore Taylor Robarts (Thayer ’06) had 4 shots on net and a groundball in his team’s 12-5 win over Pace that ended the regular season. The Warriors will now host the Northeast-10 lacrosse tournament this week in North Andover…
