It was another strong week for Coach Pam Manley’s field hockey team, as they opened on the road with Bishop Fenwick (1-1) and concluded it with a pair of wins over Pembroke (4-3) and Scituate (2-0) in Patriot League action.

Both Dragon cross-country teams tuned up for this past weekend’s Catholic Memorial Invitational by easily beating Rockland last Tuesday on the road in Patriot League action.

The memory of Hingham fans chanting “over-rated”, as the #13-ranked Dragons left the field last year following their 17-12 loss to the Harbormen, was still echoing in the minds of fans and players before Friday night’s game with the defending Patriot League champs.

Duxbury’s upset soccer win over Hingham two weeks ago seems to have been the catalyst for the Dragon offense getting in gear.

It’s feast or famine for the Lady Dragon (10-4) soccer team that qualified for the MIAA Tournament last week.

The boys’ golf team finished the regular season with a pair of impressive wins over Barnstable (239-248) and BC High (239-240) that will hopefully propel them toward another State title.

It wasn’t one of Duxbury’s better performances of the season, but they still dominated an opponent, as they shutout Quincy, 18-0, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Quincy.

Apparently it’s not a good idea to upset the Duxbury boys’ golf team. After a stunning one-stroke loss to Hingham that ended the Dragons’ winning streak at eleven, they took it out on the rest of their Patriot League foes last week, along with a 10-stroke victory over Xaverian.

The boys’ soccer team has suddenly put its season into second gear, stunning the Hingham Harbormen with a come-from-behind 3-2 win on Friday night in Duxbury.

After out-scoring their opponents by a 20-2 margin in a four-game winning streak, the Duxbury girls’ soccer team hit the skids this week in a pair of shutout losses to Pembroke (2-0) and Hingham (1-0).

UConn freshman Sara Trevisani (DHS ’08) was the coxswain on two boats at the 10th annual Head of the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford last week. She coxed the Women’s College Novice 4+ that came in 4th, and also coxed the Women’s College varsity 4+ that came in 11th out of 18.

The Lady Dragons were on the verge of playing the perfect game and earning a share of the Patriot League title until perennial league power Hanover decided to ruin their party.
