One thing you have to like about Briana Connolly is that her wheels never stop turning. Wednesday night at The Bog the sophomore forward used her speed and skating ability to rescue her teammates by scoring the winning goal with 54 seconds left in the game to lift Duxbury to a 2-1 win over Dedham.

Lady Dragons fizzle in fourth

They had a lot more confidence than they did in last year’s tournament opener with Wellesley. However, in the end the Lady Dragons couldn’t translate that feeling into points, as they were eliminated from postseason play in a 52-44 opening round loss to #6-seeded Dighton-Rehoboth.

There is a reason they call it the city, and it was on display last Wednesday night in Duxbury, as the #2-seeded Dragons were out-played by the #15 seeded Academy of Public Service (Dorchester High School) and fell to the Bears, 77-66.

Swimmers make top eight at sectionals

The DHS boys’ and girls’ swim teams proved once again that Duxbury continues to churn out top swimmers. The boys competed with 32 other teams at MIT for the Central/South Sectional title just before winter break, with Duxbury’s nine super-swimmers racking up 68 points to take eighth place, while the Lady Dragons placed fourth out of 28 teams in the girls’ Central/South Sectionals the following day by scoring 120 points.
