Gladys Elizabeth Kalil, age 87, homemaker

Gladys Elizabeth Kalil of New London, Conn., age 87, died on Sunday, Jan. 6 at Bayview Healthcare. Mrs. Kalil was born in Hartford, Conn. in 1921. In 1938, she married Samuel a. Kalil.

Gladys Elizabeth Kalil of New London, Conn., age 87, died on Sunday, Jan. 6 at Bayview Healthcare. Mrs. Kalil was born in Hartford, Conn. in 1921. In 1938, she married Samuel a. Kalil.obit-kalil-1-16.jpg

She was a mother and housewife for most of her life. Once her children were grown she went to work at Ocean Pharmacy in New London, Conn. Her hobbies were bowling in the Pfizer women’s league and playing cards. Her favorite pastime was being a grandmother to her eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kalil leaves her husband, Sam of New London, Conn., her three children, Marsha O’Connor of Waterford, Conn., Sandra Tuthill of Hingham, and Samuel K. Kalil of Duxbury.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 9 at St. Ann’s Melkite Church in Waterford, Conn.
