George D. Packard of Duxbury, formerly of Wollaston, died March 5. Born in Medford, Mass., October 5, 1912, the son of the late L. Arthur and Cora M. (Woolley) Packard. Educated in the Medford schools and a graduate of Boston University, Mr. Packard served with the U.S. Army during WWII as a Sergeant with the 3rd Infantry Regiment. He worked as a tax accountant for North American Management Corp. in Boston and previously for Hayden Stone and Co. Mr. Packard was an avid gardener and lived at The Village at Duxbury for the past 12 years. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Balentine) Packard. He leaves his children, Richard B. Packard of Boston and Sara P. White and her husband Thomas E. of New York City; his sister, Dorothy P. Kilham of Foster, R.I. and his brothers, the late Edmund A. and Robert H. Packard. A memorial service in celebration of Mr. Packard’s life will be held on Monday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m. at The Village at Duxbury, 290 Kingstown Way. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of St. John the Evangelist P.O.
