Arthur Enoch Beane, Jr. ‘Beanie,’ 93

Arthur Enoch Beane, Jr. “Beanie,” 93, of Duxbury, died on Tuesday, Feb. 7  at the Newfield House in Plymouth.

He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Clarke) Beane.

Mr. Beane was a graduate of Belmont Hill School and Brown University.  He was raised in Brookline and summered in Duxbury, eventually residing with his wife in Kingston and Duxbury. Mr. Beane was a longtime member of the Philatelic Society and known for his remarkable collection of Massachusetts stampless covers, as well as his collection of Americana Antiques.  He collected and appraised antiques his entire life, sitting on boards at both The Shirley-Eustis House and The Winslow House.  He was forever an avid Red Sox fan and a “dyed in the wool” Massachusetts Republican.

His humor and wit will be missed by his close friends and colleagues.

Mr. Beane was buried at his family plot in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, with a private memorial.
