Richard A. Gaudette, 94 of Duxbury, formerly of Norwell, died in Florida on Jan. 4. Mr. Gaudette was a member of the Norwell Fire Department, serving as Chief for several years. He also served on several town boards and was honored as the Man of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. He was on the board of directors for the South Scituate Savings Bank and Quincy Savings Bank Mr. Gaudette was an active member of the Marshfield Country Club for many years. He was a past Master of the Phoenix Lodge in Hanover where he was presented with a 50-year medal and the Henry Price Medal. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Grand Lodge, Boston, as well as several other Orders of Masonry. He was an active member of the Phoenix Lodge for 58 years. Mr. Gaudette was the husband of 68 years to the late Eleanor W. Gaudette. He leaves his children, Peter L. and his wife, Jean Marie Eufrazio of Plymouth, Stephen A. and his wife Cheryl of Wanamass, N.J., and the late David A. Gaudette; his sisters, Virginia Rule of Florida, the late Miriam Jordan, and the late Delia Parker; a brother, the late Wilder (Bud) Gaudette; his in-laws, Richard and Alice (Wadsworth) Davis of Carver; his companion, Jane Shaw; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Horace D. and Lillian (Wilder) Gaudette. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St. (Rte. 3A) N. Plymouth on Wednesday, Jan. 18 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at First Parish Church 24 River St. (Norwell Center) on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell.
