Cora
M. April, of Duxbury, died on Jan. 6. She was 97 years old. She was
born on April 9, 1910 in Fall River, the daughter of the late Edouard
and Claudia LeDoux. She was the wife of the late Paul J. April.

M. April, of Duxbury, died on Jan. 6. She was 97 years old. She was
born on April 9, 1910 in Fall River, the daughter of the late Edouard
and Claudia LeDoux. She was the wife of the late Paul J. April. In her spare time, Mrs. April enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and playing her piano. She was an avid card and cribbage player right up to the last week of her life. Over the years, her beautifully crocheted afghans, fondly known as "Nana blankets," found their way to the homes of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends, relatives, hospital, and even rectories. Mrs. April leaves her three sons; Edward April and his wife Kate of Mystic, Conn., Paul April and his wife MaryLou of North Falmouth, and John April of Worcester, and five daughters; Lorraine Whitehouse and her husband Bill of Duxbury, Helen April of New London, Conn., Carol Bourque and her husband Edmond of East Lyme, Conn., Janet Cahoon and her husband Steve of Albion, Maine, and Susan Weiditz of Guymon, Okla. She also leaves a sister, Lucille Ross of Fall River, 33 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Fri., Jan. 11 from 6-9 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston. Memorial services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St, Duxbury on Sat., Jan. 12. Burial will be at the Mayflower Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Family Church in her memory. |
