Lydia F. (Fox) Stoughton of Duxbury died July l6, at the age of 84.  She was born in E. Orange, N.J.  on May 26, 1927.  She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lydia Hilser Fox of Newark, N.J. Mrs. Stoughton graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.  After relocating to Duxbury in late 1960’s with her husband Ralph, she was a teacher’s aide in Duxbury public schools.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, entertaining friends, and loved boating and beaching on Duxbury Bay.  Until several years ago, she was a faithful bridge player and a volunteer at The Art Complex Museum in Duxbury.

Mrs. Stoughton was the wife of the late Ralph Stoughton.  She leaves her sons, Scott Stoughton of Vancouver, Wash. and Peter Stoughton and his wife Joann of Hanson; and her grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Stoughton.  A memorial service will be held in The First Parish Unitarian Church, 842 Tremont St., Duxbury on Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. For online guestbook and directions visit  macdonaldfuneralhome.com.
