Ruth W. Martin, longtime resident of Duxbury, died peacefully after a brief illness on July 17.  Mrs. Martin spent her childhood in Ridgefield Park, N.J.. She lived in Florida briefly and graduated from St. Petersburg High School.  Mrs. Martin attended Brooklyn College and was an elementary teacher in New York City for 10 years.  She married Paul G. Martin in 1957 and spent 31 years in Newton  raising her family.  She and her late husband retired to Duxbury and happily spent their remaining years here.

Mrs. Martin leaves two daughters, Lisa Blout and her husband Robert of Duxbury and Jean Brady and her husband Tom of Mansfield;  five grandchildren, Carolyn, Jeffrey and Steven Blout of Duxbury and Tommy and Andy Brady of Mansfield.  Burial will be private.
