Mr. Robert Patrick Garrity, age 60, of Lynn, formerly of Duxbury and Lakeville, died April 4, after a battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was the husband of Susanne J. (Schaffer) Garrity, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage. Born in Plymouth, he was the son of Patricia L. (Loring) Garrity of Duxbury and the late William M. Garrity, Jr. He was raised in Duxbury and was a graduate of Duxbury High School, class of 1968. He also attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Jacksonville University. Mr. Garrity was the assistant superintendent at Gannon Golf Course in Lynn for the past 13 years. An avid and competitive golfer, he won several club championships. He was also a successful coach who enjoyed coaching his daughters’ teams in softball, golf and soccer. He loved the outdoors; especially golfing, hiking, skiing, and vegetable gardening. In addition to his wife and mother; he leaves his two daughters, Jetta Rose and Jennifer Susanne Garrity of Lynn; six siblings, William M. Garrity III of Duxbury, Thomas K, Garrity of Duxbury, Jon M. Garrity and his wife Elizabeth Spence of China, Maine, Jane L. Richardson and her husband Aaron of Vernon, Fla, and David B. Garrity and his wife Ann Prince of Duxbury; his brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Nancy and Charles von Stackelberg of Duxbury, Richard and Joanna Schaffer of North Reading, and William and Shannon Schaffer of Charlotte, NC; his mother-in-law Jetta Schaffer of Duxbury, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6 from 4-8 p.m. in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 1 p.m. in the Pilgrim Church of Duxbury. Relatives and friends are invited.
