Michael Ryan Desmond, age 23, died suddenly April 3 at his home in Duxbury. Mr. Desmond was a 2004 graduate of Duxbury High School and a 2008 graduate of St. Michael’s College. He had been employed since graduation at State Street Corporation of Boston, where he earned both performance recognition awards and a recent promotion. He leaves his parents, Michael and Alice Desmond of Duxbury; his sisters, Kelly Turner and her husband Francis of Boston, Amy Desmond and her fiancé Brian Behr of Sherborn, and Courtney Desmond of Alpharetta, GA; and his girlfriend Lauren Blaha of Boston. He also leaves a large extended family, and many friends. Visiting hours will be held on Wed., April 7 from 4-8 p.m. at Shepherd Funeral Home, Pembroke (Pembroke Center, Rte. 14). Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, April 8, at 8:45 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Holy Family Church in Duxbury. Burial will be at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Catholic Charities, 51 Sleeper St., Boston, MA 02210. Services will be held in Kingston and Duxbury. |
