Jeanette S. (Beckett) Corn, of Duxbury, died Feb. 9, at the Beverly
Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth, after a long illness. She was 68.
Jeanette S. (Beckett) Corn, of Duxbury, died Feb. 9, at the Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth, after a long illness. She was 68. Born in Boston, Mrs. Corn was raised in Jamaica Plain. She was a 1955 graduate of Girls High School in Roxbury. She worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone, a cashier in the cafeteria for the Duxbury Public Schools, and retired as a bank teller from Rockland Trust in 1993. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church, where she also taught CCD. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Scrabble, cards, and taking trips to Foxwoods. She was a member of the Duxbury Senior Center. Mrs. Corn leaves her husband of 47 years, James T. Corn. She was the mother of James Jr., Jeffrey, Jason and Janelle; grandmother of Alexandre Norkus, and Gianna Corn. She was the step-daughter of Barbara Beckett; sister-in-law of Charlene and Karen Beckett. She also leaves her nephew Damyen, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106), Kingston, on Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, Duxbury, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Joslin Diabetes Foundation, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
