Robert Gerrish Millar of Duxbury, died on Tuesday, Feb. 10. He was
86. Mr. Millar graduated from St. Paul’s School in 1936, from
Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1940, and from Northeastern
University Law School in 1947. He served as a Captain in the U. S. Air
Force during World War II.
Robert Gerrish Millar of Duxbury, died on Tuesday, Feb. 10. He was 86. Mr. Millar graduated from St. Paul’s School in 1936, from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1940, and from Northeastern University Law School in 1947. He served as a Captain in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He retired in 1983 as Senior Vice-President and Treasurer of PCI Group, Inc. of New Bedford. He was a member and past treasurer and director of the Duxbury Yacht Club, the Duxbury Beach Reservation, Inc. and the Bay State Seniors Golf Association.
Mr. Millar leaves his wife of 63 years, Anna (Benedict) Millar; his son, Robert G. Millar, Jr., of Duxbury; two daughters, Joan Millar Lincoln of Haifa, Israel, and Lucy Millar Brett of Dennis. He leaves ten grandchildren, Robert G. Millar, III, James Millar, Alexander Millar, Laura Millar, Joshua Lincoln, Daniel Lincoln, Jessica Aschari, and Jennifer, Stephanie and Colin Brett; and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late James Millar of South Yarmouth, Hetty Millar of Pompono Beach, Fla., and Goodwin Millar of Jamaica Plain. Burial is private at Mayflower Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Duxbury. Memorial donations may be made to Duxbury Beach Reservation, Inc., P.O. Box 2593, Duxbury, MA 02331, or St. Paul’s School, Concord, N.H. 03301.
