Stephen James McKee of Kingston, Massachusetts, formerly of Duxbury and Lexington Massachusetts, died June 4, 2009 at Boston Medical Center with friends at his side. A memorial service in celebration of Stephen’s life will be conducted Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:00 o’clock at the Pilgrim Church of Duxbury. The Rev. Todd Vetter and the Rev. Douglas Carter will officiate. Mr. McKee was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on June 5, 1942 to the late Richard J. McKee and Priscilla (Leonard) McKee. He graduated from Tabor Academy, Marion, Massachusetts, in 1962. Following graduation he attended Oberlin University before joining the U.S Air force for active duty in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. For most of his career he worked as Customer Service and Sales Representative with Fawcett Oil Company, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Steve was a most kind, generous and outgoing person with a contagious sense of humor. He was a long time member and friend of Bill W’s. As an avid sports fan he cheered for all the Boston teams. Among activities he liked were fishing, golf and reading, but above all, he enjoyed the companionship of his faithful dog “Kachu†and the company of his many friends who will miss him dearly. There will be a private burial at Westview Cemetery in Lexington. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, Massachusetts 01701 |
