Thomas F. Thrasher, 96, of Brooksby Village in Peabody, formerly of Duxbury and Chatham, died Feb. 17. Mr. Thrasher grew up in Hanover and was an airline pilot for Northeast Airlines and Delta Airlines, retiring in 1973 after 31 years of service. He flew for the U.S. Air Force as a U.S. flight crew and aviation ground support employee of Northeast Airlines, North Atlantic Division, and served overseas with the Air Transport Command from 1942 through August 14, 1945. He was a member of the QB’s (Cape Cod Hangar) along with many other flying groups and men’s groups. Mr. Thrasher was the husband of the late Patricia (Marston) Thrasher. He leaves his sons, Myles Thrasher of Eastham, Scott Thrasher and his wife Maureen (Simkins) Thrasher of Duxbury; his daughter, Karen Thrasher of Marblehead; his sister, Anna Butts of Aiken, S.C.; and three grandsons, all of Duxbury. A graveside service will be held in Hanover at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St, Danvers, MA 01923 or a charity of your choice. |
