Lloyd Wilson Chandler, 85, DHS Class of 1940

Lloyd Wilson Chandler, 85, of Duxbury, died on Nov. 22, in the Nemasket Healthcare Center, Middleboro, following a period of declining health.

Mr. Chandler was born on Dec. 1, 1922 in Plymouth, the son of the late Earl W. and Barbara (Richards) Chandler and was raised and educated in Duxbury.  He was a graduate of Duxbury High School, Class of 1940.

A veteran, Mr. Chandler served in the United States Navy during World War II.  Active in the Duxbury community, he was a former member of the Duxbury Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a life member and former post commander of the American Legion Post 223.  Prior to his retirement, Mr. Chandler was a licensed oil burner technician.

He was the husband of the late E. Marion (Leach) Chandler.

Chandler leaves his brother, David Chandler, and one sister, Earla Witt, as well as several grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial were private.
