Priscilla McIntosh Lumbard, 68, of South Yarmouth, Sunday, Nov. 23 after a five-year battle with cancer. She was the wife of Alden Lumbard, to whom she was married for 47 years. Born in East Haven, Conn., Mrs. Lumbard attended East Haven High School and graduated from Grace New Haven Hospital School of Nursing. After marrying in 1961, Alden and Priscilla settled in Westborough. In 1977, the family moved to Sandwich, where Mrs. Lumbard worked as secretary to the Sandwich Community Schools and later as secretary in the nursing department at Cape Cod Community College. In 1987, Alden and Priscilla moved to Fairhaven, where they lived for ten years, finally moving to South Yarmouth in 1997. Mrs. Lumbard and her family enjoyed many years boating on the water around Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Cuttyhunk Island. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cross-country skiing in the White Mountains, biking on the Cape, and later in life, playing golf with her husband. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, John Lumbard of Hingham, Nancy Sullivan of East Sandwich, and Amy Holbrook of Duxbury; her nine grandchildren, Timothy, Christopher, Grace, Sarah, Guy, Welles, Caleb, Alexander and Cameron; two sisters, Elizabeth Sheridan of North Carolina, Suzanne Courtmanche of California, and many wonderful friends and extended family members. Funeral services will begin at 1 p..m on Monday, Dec. 1, at the First Church of Christ, 136 Old Main Street, Sandwich. Burial will follow at the Sandwich Town Cemetery.
