Gordon Lee Cushing died Oct. 15 after a short illness. Mr. Cushing was a lifelong Duxbury resident and graduated from Duxbury High School in 1955. He was president of his high school class at DHS. The son of the late Levi Cushing and Ruth Cushing, Mr. Cushing worked for years in the automotive industry with Cushing Brothers’ garage in Hall’s corner. Mr. Cushing loved to fish and hunt and was an accomplished and self taught musician. He was a former member of the Duxbury Finance Committee, and sang in the choir at the First Parish church. Mr. Cushing leaves his brother Harvey of Duxbury, son Gordon H. Cushing of Duxbury, daughter Gwynne Souza of Plymouth, son Matthew Cushing of Bourne, daughter Marcie Herold of Duxbury and seven grandchildren. Services will be private. |
