Mrs. Olga E. (Vantura) Lyons, 81, of Duxbury died Saturday, Aug. 20.
Mrs. Olga E. (Vantura) Lyons, 81, of Duxbury died Saturday, Aug. 20. The daughter of the late John and Olga (Petersen), she was born on Aug. 25, 1927. She was raised and educated in Belmont and Provincetown and graduated from Tufts University. She was married to her husband, the late Frederick T. Lyons Jr., for 56 years. They lived in Chappaqua, N.Y. for 35 years and were parishioners at Saint John and Saint Mary. They moved to Duxbury 16 years ago. Mrs. Lyons leaves her six children, John Lyons and his wife Marjorie of Larchmont, N.Y., Susan Lyons of San Jose, Calif., Maryann Lyons and her husband George Civita of Ellicott City, Md., Patricia Lyons of Brewster, N.Y., Kathleen Lyons and her husband Patrick Vaughan of Norwell, and Frederick T. Lyons III and his wife Jennifer of Pound Ridge, N.Y. as well as eleven grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m., at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Route 3A, Duxbury. Burial will follow in the Mayflower Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. |
