John Joseph “Joe” Mealey, 81, died in the Quincy Medical Center on Friday, June 27.
John Joseph “Joe” Mealey, 81, died in the Quincy Medical Center on Friday, June 27. Born in Boston to Robert F. and Mary (Hunt) Mealey, he attended English High School in Boston. Mr. Mealey served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He had been living in the Allerton House in Quincy for the past 6 years moving there from Canton where he had lived from 1991 until 2002, before that he had lived in Walpole. He worked as a bartender for over 46 years at the Holiday Inn in Dedham, Mill Falls Restaurant in Newton and retired from Pete’s Dream in Walpole. Mr. Mealey leaves his daughter Linda Keelan of Framingham. He was also the father of the late Robert J. Mealey. He leaves his siblings Mary McCoy of Duxbury, Peg Brennan of Pembroke, Joan Mealey of Duxbury, Therese Mealey of Duxbury, Thomas Mealey of Norwood and George Mealey of Duxbury. He was also the brother of the late Anne Mealey, James Mealey, Robert, William, Paul, and Lawrence Mealey. Funeral services were held in the Blessed Sacrament Church on East Street in Walpole on Monday, June 30. Burial took place in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday, July 1. |
