William Allen Olson Sr., 73, of Duxbury died on March 23 at his home in Duxbury. He was the husband of the late Patricia Schneider Olson.

William Allen Olson Sr., 73, of Duxbury died on March 23 at his home in Duxbury. He was the husband of the late Patricia Schneider Olson.

Mr. Olson was born in N.J. and was educated in the N.J. school system. He had lived in Duxbury since 1951 and was the owner and operator of Olson and Son Painting serving the Duxbury and the South Shore area. William was a navy veteran in the Korean War and was a member of the Plymouth VFW and Duxbury American Legion. He enjoyed the beach and vacationing at his home in Maine.{sidebar id=1}


Mr. Olson leaves his children Debbie Poirier and her husband Fran of Duxbury, William Olson and his wife Dana of Sagamore and Luann Colantonio and her husband Steve of Plymouth. He also leaves his sisters Barbara Pippin of Maryland and Christine Sarna of Virginia. He was the brother of the late George “Bob” Olson and Richard Olson. He leaves his grandchildren Billy, Jen, Jeffrey, Desirae, Stephen, Billy and Seth and his great grandchildren Ashley, Will, Josie, Olivia, and Jeffrey Jr.


Visiting hours will be held on Thurs., March 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., in Kingston. Funeral services will be held on Fri., March 28, at 9:30 a.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vine Hill’s Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd, Suite 1010, Rockville MD.{sidebar id=4}
