Anna
Millar, a life-long resident of Duxbury, died on Dec. 1 after a brief
illness. She was 89. She had been married for 64 years to Robert
Gerrish Millar.

Millar, a life-long resident of Duxbury, died on Dec. 1 after a brief
illness. She was 89. She had been married for 64 years to Robert
Gerrish Millar. The eldest of four daughters of the late Edward Benson
Benedict and Laura Elms Benedict of Chestnut Hill and Duxbury, Mrs.
Millar loved tennis, sailing, golf, bridge and music. She played the
violin with small chamber music groups as well as with the Plymouth
Philharmonic. She was also a member of the Duxbury Yacht Club and the
Chilton Club of Boston. Mrs. Millar graduated from Beaver Country Day School and attended Bennington College. She leaves three children; Robert G. Millar, Jr. (Gerry) of Duxbury, Joan M. Lincoln of Haifa, Israel, and Lucy M. Brett of Dennis; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and her sister Barbara B. Gifford of Concord. A service will be held on Sat., Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., at the Church of St. John the Evangelist on Washington Street. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Crossroads for Kids, 119 Myrtle St. Duxbury MA. 02332. |
