Caroline (Kye) C. Rogerson of Duxbury died Sunday at the Newfield House in Plymouth after a long illness. She was 79.
Caroline (Kye) C. Rogerson of Duxbury died Sunday at the Newfield House in Plymouth after a long illness. She was 79.![]() Born in Cohasset, she was educated at Derby Academy and Concord Academy before obtaining degrees from the former Garland School and the Nursery Training School of Boston. She taught nursery school in Brookline for several years. In 1950 she married Charles E. Rogerson and in 1956 they moved to Duxbury. Last year they lost their son, Edward (Ned) Rogerson of Florida. Kye was devoted to her family and friends. She was an avid golfer and was an active volunteer with the Festival of Trees of Cranberry Hospice. In addition to her husband Charles, she leaves a daughter, Susannah C. Leahy of Marblehead; two sisters, Madeleine Fraggos of Marblehead and Harriet Boardman of Plymouth; a brother, Charles C. Wilson of Mechanicsburg, Penn., and three grandchildren, Emmett C. Leahy of Marblehead and Samuel T. Rogerson and Meredith S. Rogerson of Boca Raton, Fla. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Shelby C. Rogerson of Boca Raton, her son-in-law, Robert E. Leahy of Marblehead and a family friend, Juan Carlos Guerrero of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Nov. 17, at St. John's The Evangelist Church in Duxbury. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, Mass. 02360. |
