Margaret Louise Newton, of Somerset, formerly a long time resident of Duxbury, died on Dec. 20. She was 86.
Margaret Louise Newton, of Somerset, formerly a long time resident of Duxbury, died on Dec. 20. She was 86. Ms. Newton was vice president of Hartwell Coal Co. She was the sister of the late Carlos E. Newton and the late Ruth Hochu. She was the guardian of Diane Newton of Plymouth, and the life long friend of Maureen McCarrick. She leaves nephews Robert Hochu of Somerset, James Newton of Wash., and Robert Newton, and nieces Karen Oliveira of Tiverton, R.I., Nancy Hochu-Oliveira of Swansea, Judith Lynch of Pawtucket, R.I. She was also the great aunt of several nieces and nephews. Funeral services took place on Sat., Dec. 22, at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston, followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church. Burial took place at Mayflower Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301 or the MA Assoc. of Mental Health, 130 Bowdoin St. Suite 309, Boston, MA 02108. |
