Benjamin Albert Vinal, age 24, of Duxbury and St. Croix, USVI died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 10 in St. Croix. Ben was born in South Weymouth. He also lived in Norwell and later in Duxbury and Chestnut Hill. He graduated from DHS and then attended the University of Vermont where he received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Rubenstein School of Environmental and Natural Resources in 2006.Ben’s many interests included kayaking, organic farming, aquaculture, cooking and wines.

Ben leaves his mother and stepfather, Pamela Kohlberg and Curt Greer of Chestnut Hill, his father and stepmother, Cap and Paige Vinal of Duxbury, brothers Sam and Jon Vinal, his sister Nancy Vinal, stepbrothers Jody and Dustin Starr, stepsisters Katharine, Constance and Genevieve Greer, grandparents Nancy and Jerome Kohlberg of Mount Kisco, N.Y. and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also the grandson of the late Beth and Bus Vinal of Norwell.

A memorial service and celebration of Ben’s life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, 12 p.m., at the home of Cap and Paige Vinal on Washington Street.
