Duxbury car chase

A busy week for Duxbury Police got busier early Monday afternoon when an officer spotted what looked to be a suspicious car at Cox’s Corner, where Route 3A crosses Route 139. A license-plate check indicated the car had been stolen in Marshfield several days earlier. When the officer attempted to stop the car it sped away.
The pursuit that ensued gave new meaning to “Around Town” – ranging as far as Summer Street, Oak Street and Elm Street – where the car crashed into a tree on the front lawn of No. 282.
Two young men were in the car. One was a juvenile, the other an as-yet unnamed 17-year-old. One suspect was immediately arrested. The other fled into the woods, but was quickly apprehended by Duxbury police and state troopers. Marshfield Police also assisted. According to Duxbury Police, neither suspect required medical attention.
