It has been a long, hot summer, but our sales have been amazing. We are now welcoming the cool crisp wonder of fall. Come see the selection of fall clothing for children, ladies, and men. The prices are unbelievable and affordable. We are now taking fall clothing that is stylish, in excellent condition, and saleable. By now the recipients of our 2012 scholarships are settled at college and we begin to plan for our 2013 scholarship awards. We are grateful to you all for your support. The more we sell, the more our scholarships grow. That is why we are here. Since it is fall and school starts, we would like to have more consigned or donated children’s clothing, as there is a high demand for them now and our racks empty quickly. If you wish to buy children’s clothes, please come and see what we do have, as there will be more clothes as well as lunch boxes, backpacks, and shoes coming in every day. With all our success, we do have one problem—we need more volunteers. We have lost nearly 20 percent of our volunteers due to unexpected change—illness, surgery, moving to a new place, or starting a new job. We appeal for help. We do not require special skills. While there are computer jobs, the greatest part of our work does not involve computers. The work is not difficult and lots of fun. We share lots of laughs, discover great deals, and make everlasting friendships with our co-workers. The work schedule is light, three hours a day, and one day a week. The hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Why not give us a try? The gift you give of yourself becomes a gift to graduates. We thank our dedicated volunteers who now serve the Duxbury Thrift Shop. Our shop depends on all of you and we are so grateful for your friendship and support. Welcome and enjoy the Duxbury Thrift Shop, located in the shopping plaza near Hall’s Corner. |
