Home Delivered Meals. Would you or someone you know benefit from our hot, nutritious home delivered meals? These meals are made on-site and delivered by volunteers to Duxbury seniors who may be frail or low income elders or individuals with disabilities. This program provides a visit as well as a meal Monday through Friday. The cost is $4 per meal but a sliding scale is available for those who qualify. Call Karen Grisdale at the Senior Center at 781-934-5774, ext. 116 for more information. Let Us do the Driving. Did you know that the Senior Center operates three buses for your convenience with friendly, helpful drivers? We can take you to medical appointments, hair appointments, to do local shopping at grocery stores or area malls such as the Hanover Mall or the shops at Colony Place. We also make stops at banks, the post office and the library. We can even take you to visit a friend in the Duxbury area. You can also hop on the bus for our weekly trip to Trader Joe’s or many of the planned supper clubs and lunch outings. Of course if you want to come spend some quality time at the Senior Center to participate in an activity or enjoy a delicious lunch, we can also help get you to and fro. All medical transportation is scheduled by Becky Ford. Please call Becky at 781-934-5774, ext 117 at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment to schedule a ride. Sadie II, the medical van, operates on a regular schedule Monday-Friday during regular Senior Center hours. All other senior bus transportation is scheduled at the front desk. Please call Suzanne or one of her friendly volunteers to request a ride, at least one day in advance, at 781-934-5774, ext. 100. Line Dancing. Line up for some fun, and exercise your mind and body. Improve your balance and burn calories. Dance to a mix of country, pop and oldies. These classes will be geared to beginner and senior dancers. Sign up to try the first class for free on Monday, March 5 at 12:30 p.m. in our Fitness Room. Call the front desk at 781-934-5774, ext. 100 to reserve your spot because space will be limited.
