A Franklin Street man was med-flighted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on Wednesday following a one-car accident on Route 3A. Lt. Chip Chubb of the Duxbury Police Department said his agency received a call around 3:40 p.m. that a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee had driven off Tremont Street and struck a utility pole near Harrison Street. The driver, Matthew Thevenin, 34, was conscious when emergency personnel arrived, said Deputy Chief Wayne Sjostedt of the Duxbury Fire Department. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. Sjostedt said Thevenin suffered multiple traumas from the accident and that his injuries met the "priority one" criteria to call in the med-flight helicopter. Chubb added that Thevenin had suffered leg injuries from the accident. Thevenin was transported by ambulance to the central fire station on Tremont Street, where the Boston Med-Flight helicopter landed shortly before 4 p.m., said Sjostedt. The helicopter was back in the air by 4:10 p.m. to bring Thevenin to Beth Israel. On Thursday, a representative from the hospital said that Thevenin was in good condition, but would not elaborate on his injuries. Chubb said there was no investigation into the accident and that it looked like Thevenin "drifted too far to the right and hit the pole."
