The proposed 66-unit condominium complex proposed by developer Michael Intoccia will be located at the intersections of Valley, Franklin and High streets.

Intoccia’s development consultant, Paul Cusson of Delphic Associates, has told the Zoning Board of Appeals that they can work with a “conceptual” design of 55 units during their ongoing negotiations.

The project was set for its fifth public hearing before this latest setback. In previous meetings, issues such as septic regulations, environmental issues and traffic impact have been standards for discussion.

At the most recent meeting on January 7, Intoccia’s engineers and the ZBA’s engineering consultant, Thomas Sexton of Mainstream Engineering, still had 13 or so issues they disagreed on and were to work out by Wednesday’s meeting. MacDonald will work with both sides this week to reach some compromise.

“We’ll all sit down and iron out the differences,” said MacDonald. “It made no sense to meet [on Wednesday] if there was nothing to talk about, so we want to figure some of these issues out.”

MacDonald said that he, ZBA members, as well as the applicant all decided to continue the latest public hearing.

“Everyone was okay with the decision to postpone,” he said. “Why sit and do nothing [at the meeting]?”

The next public hearing for the project is scheduled for March 3 beginning at 7:30 p.m.
