Duxbury police officer was arraigned in Quincy District Court on
Tuesday on charges that he assaulted his girlfriend, a Milton police
officer. A Duxbury police officer was arraigned in Quincy District Court on Tuesday on charges that he assaulted his girlfriend, a Milton police officer. Sean Moran, 30, pled not guilty to charges of domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, threats to commit a crime, and malicious property damage, according to David Traub, a spokesperson for the Norfolk County District Attorney's office. Moran was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday. The judge also issued a restraining order that does not allow Moran to come into contact with the alleged victim for one year, Traub said. The charges stem from two separate incidents, according to reports in the Quincy Patriot Ledger. It is alleged that Moran beat his girlfriend following a surprise party she threw for him in Quincy on Friday night. It is also alleged that in October, Moran threatened his girlfriend with her service revolver. Duxbury police seized Moran's gun, which was located in his work locker, after being notified of the charges. Moran joined the Duxbury Police Department in the winter of 2006. Chief Mark DeLuca could not be reached for comment. Moran's attorney, John Guglielmi of Plainville, said he had no comment on the case. |
