Source: Massachsuetts Republican Party Rep. Candidate Josh Cutler Breaks Promise Thirty Times, Takes $6K+ in Special Interest Campaign Cash Boston– When Democrat Josh Cutler began his perennial campaign for State Representative he made a promise not to accept campaign cash from special interests like lobbyists and political action committee. Fourteen years and 30 broken promises later, Cutler is back at it again in the Sixth Plymouth District with $6,150 from lobbyists and other well funded groups in the bank. “It should disappoint every voter in Hanson, Pembroke and Duxbury that Josh Cutler made a campaign promise that he never intended to keep,” said MassGOP Executive Director Nate Little. “Unless Cutler keeps his promise and gives back the special interest money, we can only imagine what other easily made promises this perennially unsuccessful candidate cavalierly intends to forget in the unlikely event he is actually elected.” Background Cutler Promised to Oppose Donations from Special Interests and Lobbyists “All three [Josh Cutler, Garrett Bradley and Walter Murray] are on record as supporting campaign finance reform and opposing donations from special-interest groups and lobbyists.” (Molly Hochkeppel, “Democratic rivals cross swords on radio,” Patriot Ledger, 9/4/98) Cutler Has Broken His Promise 30 Times, Receiving $6,150 in Campaign Cash from Lobbyists, PACs and other Specials Interests (Source: OCPF) ### |
