Holding Students Accountable In and Out of School

Another misperception is that somehow student rights are trampled on whenever we undertake an investigation. Although I can only speak to my administration, at no time has a student's right to due process ever been ignored. The word interrogation has been used by some to describe these investigations. By definition, to interrogate means to question somebody closely, often in an aggressive manner. Respectfully, I take strong exception to this mischaracterization of our investigations.

Senior Club Saved by the Vote

Nora Delano, a highly regarded and respected English teacher at Duxbury High School, died Jan. 30 at a hospital in Scottsdale, Ariz., after complications following a broken leg.  Mrs. Delano was a winter resident of Apache Junction, Ariz., and has suffered with emphysema for the past 15 years.

Schools and Parents Stay Connect-Ed for Safety

The Duxbury Public Schools takes an important step forward this month in implementing a new automated communications service called Connect-Ed. Connect-Ed is primarily about the safety of our students. Last year, as we gathered data for the strategic plan, we saw that school safety continued to be an important topic for staff, students and families. Our objective for this year was to explore opportunities to improve school safety and communications. An automated phone calling system is one of the areas we researched.
