| Boards Delay House Reconstruction Review |

Both the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals had to postpone
their review of a proposed home reconstruction project on King Caesar
Road recently.
Both the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals had to postpone their review of a proposed home reconstruction project on King Caesar Road The proposal is to demolish an existing structure at 130 King Caesar Road built in the 1930s to rebuild a new and larger non-conforming structure.{sidebar id=4} During their April 5 meeting, planning board members discussed several issues they had with the project, including the true owner of a right of way to the property and setback measurements for the new dwelling. They decided to wait on a vote on whether or not to recommend denial of the permit to the ZBA until they could hear from the applicant’s consultant, Paul Brogna, to arrive at some answers. Brogna was invited to appear at Monday’s meeting, but could not attend due to a scheduling conflict. He is now slated to appear before the board at their next meeting on May 3. The ZBA also had to postpone their first public hearing on the project at 130 King Caesar Road due to a typo in the legal notice to citizens. Due to a clerical error at the Clipper, the notice in the April 14 edition of the newspaper listed the hearing as discussing the property at 132 King Caesar Road instead. ZBA chair for the hearing Elizabeth Lewis noted the error at Thursday night’s meeting and said that the board did not feel comfortable that “we fulfilled our statutory notification of the public” regarding the hearing for that night. She apologized to the dozen or so citizens who came out for the hearing but assured them that they would have a chance to listen and offer their opinion in the near future. She did note, however, that all abutters were properly notified of the hearing and it was just the legal notice to other citizens that featured the wrong address.{sidebar id=1} The board opened the public hearing and immediately voted to continue it to Thursday, May 13 at 7:15 p.m. after conferring with one of the applicants, John McLaughlin, and Brogna.
