Are you looking for a winter workout? Have you a family member who has suffered from Alzheimer disease? Here is an opportunity for you to participate in an event that will benefit your workout needs and benefit folks with Alzheimers and their families.  Are you aware that of the Americans aged 65 and over, one in eight has Alzheimer Disease?

“Intermissions” is a supportive social day program offered by the Duxbury Senior Center. It is designed to promote and enhance the social, physical and cognitive skills for the participant who has been diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia. Our half-marathon purpose is to raise funds to benefit Alzheimer offerings at the Duxbury Senior Center.

The half marathon is open to runners and walkers, who singly or in teams, will participate in walking or running 13.1 miles around Duxbury Saturday March 30, starting and finishing at The Duxbury Senior Center. Registration is $50 per person and you can register day of event 7:30 a.m. or online at Active.com.
