The Duxbury Camera Club, with more than 60 members, begins its fourth year with a meeting at the Duxbury Free Library on Sept. 5. The club’s mission is “to promote the study, understanding, improvement and enjoyment of photography.” The members meet each month and also enjoy a variety of workshops and field trips. New this year, the club is organizing several small groups to allow members to share and discuss their photography in a more personal setting. Monthly meetings feature prominent photographers as well as opportunities for members to present their own work. For the coming year, guest photographers will include Richard Ferland, Bill Brett, Cary Wolinsky, Don Toothacker and Bob Ring. The club recently published “Images of Duxbury,” a book of photographs commemorating the Town’s 375th anniversary. Images from the book, as well as other photos of local subjects, will be exhibited at the Duxbury Camera Club Members Show, Images of Duxbury, at the Duxbury Art Association Gallery, from Sept. 28 to Nov. 1. The Duxbury Camera Club welcomes photographers of all levels. Non-members may attend one of the monthly meetings, which take place at the Library at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month (excepting July and August). |
