The Duxbury 375th Committee has organized a six part series for residents of all ages to come discover the many chapters of Duxbury history, from our natural geography with speaker Reed Stewart, to Patuxet Indians who walked through our back yards, with speaker Sheila Lynch and Dennis Martin. We’ll also explore The Pilgrim Arrival with Jim Baker, The American Revolution and Duxbury Participation with Patrick Browne, Life in 1890’s with Margery MacMillian and How the Southeast Expressway Changed Duxbury, with Tony Kelso. This course is offered in collaboration with the Life Long Learning L3 Fall Program at Duxbury Senior Center. Bring your morning coffee and come learn about Duxbury history from 10,000 years ago to 1960. Registration at DSC is offered Monday Sept. 10, 5-7 p.m., and Tuesday Sept. 11 – Friday Sept. 14, 10 a.m. - noon on a “first come first served” basis. The cost is $25 for the entire series, Saturdays, Sept. 29 – Nov. 3, 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Duxbury Senior Center. For additional information please contact Pamela Smith, 781-934-6492. |
