Phil Sciretta of Pine Lake Road, (Nobles ’12) will attend Virginia Tech University this fall as a business major and play baseball for the Hokies. Phil is a left-handed pitcher and plays first base, and he is currently captain of the Noble and Greenough baseball team. He also plays for the Duxbury American Legion. Prior to attending Nobles, Phil played on the DHS baseball team and was a two-year Patriot League All-Star and Patriot League Co-MVP. This past winter Phil was captain of the Nobles hockey team. Nobles for the third time in school history won the prestigious Flood Mar Tournament and for the first time in school history they advanced to the championship game, and placed second among all New England Prep Schools. Phil was recently selected to the all-star team for the Independent School League for his outstanding performance. Chris and Mirva (Valtonen, formerly of Finland) Palfrey of Waltham announce the birth of their first child, a daughter named Naomi Cecilia, born March 17, 2012 at 3:14 a.m. at Emerson Hospital. She weighed 7 ½ ounces and was 21 inches long. Proud grandparents are Debra Palfrey of Duxbury, John Palfrey of Plymouth and Marja-Leena Grönfors of Helsinki, Finland. Great grandparents are Priscilla and Richard Wonkka of Plymouth and the late Martha and George Palfrey of Duxbury. Also welcoming Naomi are her aunts, Emily Palfrey of Weymouth, Hannah Palfrey of Amherst and Duxbury, great-aunts Karina Ryan of Duxbury, Bonnie Wonkka of Kingston and great uncles Steve Wonkka and Peter Palfrey of Duxbury, her cousin Sofia and many more aunts and uncles from Helsinki, Finland. Congratulations to Eric Max H. Butler, Timothy Michael Duffy and James T. Barrett who received their bachelor’s degrees on Feb. 1, 2012 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. |
