An iPhone 4S: $199. Nike Air Force sneakers: $225. Four years at DHS: $44,000. The right to wear the Mr. DHS crown: priceless. Five young men will compete for the right to wear the Mr. DHS crown at the second competition on Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Duxbury Performing Arts Center. The only junior in the field is Nick Kates, returning for his second shot at the crown. Seniors Bobby Boyle, Brendan Connolly, Sean Gleason and Kasey Stefanski will vie for top honors as well. The contestants will be judged on their good looks, charm and talent, and each will perform in a skit, answer questions that reveal his wit, and model a tux while escorting one (or two) young ladies. Three secret judges will keep score, and the audience members will have a chance to cast a vote for their favorite during intermission. The competition is a fundraiser, cosponsored by The Dragon Flyer and the Class of 2014. Tickets will be on sale at school the week before the show for $5, and will be available at the door for $7. |
